WHITE COLNE COMMUNITY DESIGN GROUP

MINUTES OF MEETING: MONDAY 9th NOVEMBER 2009

Meeting attended by Sarah Adlem (Chair), Martin Allison, Colin Ellard, Richard Gourlay, Peter Norris, Chris Pearcey, Rita Pearcey (Sec), Dawn Trusson and Jan Cole from RCCE.  Apologies received from John Watt

1. UPDATE FROM MEMBERS ON ACTIVITY SINCE LAST MEETING

RP  Time spent on the project by volunteers since the last meeting was recorded and will be added to the Volunteer Time Log.  Consultation Diary will be updated accordingly.  Rita will circulate both these documents so that members can check they are a correct record.

2. EXPENSES

No expenses to be claimed this month

3. QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS & ANALYSIS

Warwick have completed the report on the Questionnaire results which is on its way to us.

We have a budget for the results to be uploaded on to the White Colne website.  Warwick has also produced 75 pages of free text answers to the general questions, by areas of the village, at no extra cost.

Sarah produced a document which she has drafted for distribution to villagers to give them feedback on the questionnaire.  Discussed this and we agreed to send any further suggested amendments to her by Thursday 12th November so that it can be printed and distributed at the weekend with the White Colne News.

Discussed an ‘event’ to share the draft Village Design Statement document with villagers.  Agreed this should be in the spring (Feb. onwards) and we need to think of ideas to entice villagers to attend.  Jan suggested including a colouring competition and, also, villagers could be invited to indicate which parts of the displayed VDS they like / dislike by using different coloured dots.  A number of people mentioned in the questionnaire that they would like to see a pub or shop in the village and Sarah suggested that ‘for one night only’ we could turn the Village Hall into a pub and shop as the theme for our ‘event’.  We should consider inviting members of the Parish Council to attend to deal with non VDS issues from the questionnaire.

4. VDS DOCUMENT - COMPILATION

Peter has sent documents to John to produce pictures.  Sarah and Colin have done their

C&RP character assessments and the rest need to be produced.  Chris and Rita will type up the

JW remaining notes for their area and John still needs to do his and Martin’s area.

5. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
